Requirement
Provide a 24/7 access to medical care to CUSTOMER employees and contracted staff.
This should include occupational healthcare, primary emergency services, but also preventative measure to mitigate risks workforce is exposed to.
Service shall be adapted to the risks arising from both workforce activities and local conditions and environment.
The CONTRACTOR Personnel must have the possibility of communicating with a doctor at any time (for any work not falling under a protocol, a difficult clinical case or interpretation of an ECG).
Required skills
Emergency medical Technician Personnel
Diplomas / certificates
IADE - "State Registered Nurse Anaesthetist" Diploma
IDE - "State Registered Nurse"
Holder of a Diploma in Disaster medicine
Following Accident and emergency continuous training shall be up to date:
" Advanced Cardiac Life support
" Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support
" Advanced Trauma Life Support or equivalent
Geographic origin and origin of diploma
Western or "Western certified"

Experience
Minimum 7/8 years Experience in
" Work on isolated sites
" Emergency medicine
NB: Proof of solid experience in a trauma or intensive care centre and pre-hospital emergency medicine required.
" Tropical medicine
General skills
Management, administration experience
Use of computing tools
Spoken languages :
" Fluent English
" French appreciated
Personal qualities :
" Ability to self control in emergency or risky situations
" Good communicator
" Good organization sense
Work rhythm: On rotation on a 4 weeks basis.
Must be available 24/24
" Reports to HSE superintendent
Medical care
" Hold routine consultations within the limit of his/her knowledge, always under the responsibility of a doctor, prescribe treatments and monitor progress, perform and monitor minor surgery, refer cases s/he cannot resolve alone.
" Give necessary advice on the prevention of infectious diseases or diseases related to local conditions, administer and monitor chemoprophylaxis and vector control measures.
" Organise first-aid and medical triage in a mass-casualty situation.
" Provide the staff with psychological support.
" Help draw up rescue plans and organise drills.
" Participate in first-aid education.
" Monitor staff immunisation.
" Ensure follow up of HIV and Malaria patients.
" Inspect the certificates of fitness of staff from contract companies, organise fitness-forwork medicals for non-expatriate staff from the subsidiary, and check the fitness-for-work of Group expatriates if necessary
" Authorise exemptions from and inabilities to work within his/her knowledge, refer cases s/he cannot resolve alone to a doctor.
Hygiene:
" Organise HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points) with the Camp Boss.
" Regularly inspect all stages of the food chain, living quarters and their outbuildings, water quality and waste management.
" Participate in the hygiene education of all staff members and supervision of personal hygiene.
" Ensure that all catering personnel are fit for work.
" Notify HSE superintendent of any significant anomaly identified during these inspections.
Emergency situation
" He shall manage any vital emergency onsite in accordance with current international standards (working under a protocol with the possibility of communicating with a doctor at any time, if they are working on an isolated site):
" Manage any Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC )
Training
" He participates to the recruitment and training of a local paramedic, to qualify him as Emergency Medical technician
Reporting
" He issues a monthly activity report that contains:
o Global medical activity and the distribution pattern of the main illnesses.
o Any notable events (evacuations on medical grounds, accidents, etc.).
o Medical device monitoring.
o Salient points concerning medical hygiene.
" He keeps the medical activity register(s) up to date.
